Resident News - Here come the drums!

Residents participate in Samba drumming and dance workshops with Cardboard Citizens

Since August 2008, some Bethany House residents have taken part in a series of Samba drumming and dance workshops with Cardboard Citizens. They have learnt how to play the traditional Samba drums including the Surdo, the Repenique, the Snare Drum and the Tamborim. As well as the drumming they have also got to grips with the necessary samba dance steps.

They’ve been doing so well that they performed alongside other groups in the Mayor’s Thames Festival in September and have played other events since … including the Bethany House Open Day!

Congratulations to all of the residents who have taken part and to Cardboard Citizens for making the venture such a huge success.
