Cardboard Citizens Theatre - Three Blind Mice

Clients go to the Theatre!

Clients at Irish Centre Housing were treated to a Forum Theatre production by Cardboard Citizens called Three Blind Mice. The show was unique in that the actors use an interactive style where the audience are encouraged to get involved and offer their advice on how they would have acted in a particular situation.

All actors who participate in Cardboard Citizens theatre productions have experienced homelessness and shows are based on the true experiences of homeless people that they have worked with.

Three Blind Mice was based on 3 characters: Sean, whose best friend is becoming his worst enemy, newly released prisoner Dapo who is struggling to stay on the right side of the law and Erica who is at risk of losing her accommdation as she is convinced that mice are controlling her thoughts. Three tenants struggling to make their house a home.

Clients in the audience decided on Dapo's story and looked at what could he could have done differently to avoid his arrest. Suggestions included that he needs to learn to control his anger, communicate his feelings better and keep away from his friend who was a negative influence on him.
